NPAT have been fortunate enough to have been involved in two Erasmus funded LEAP projects, one specifically looking at teaching and learning in Special Education in Iceland; an area of increased focus at a European level and a further looking at Wellbeing in Sweden.
Members of staff from across the Trust were fortunate enough to have visited Iceland in March as part of the project to look at the further development of provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Whilst in Iceland, teaching staff visited a mainstream school, an ASD unit and a Special School.
A further group of staff enjoyed spending May half term in Stenungsund in Sweden where they visited several schools and experienced yoga, forest schools and fika (a sociable gathering over coffee).
Since returning both groups have shared their experiences and have introduced some of the practices observed into our trust schools. The feedback from both groups (attached) offers an insight into their fascinating experiences. Both projects represented a fantastic opportunity and we are very privileged to have been involved.
