Reception Applications

In Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, children are eligible to start school (in reception year) in the September following their 4th birthday. The application process is now on-line and is managed by the local authorities as below;

West Northamptonshire Council : for Abington Vale Primary School, Blackthorn Primary School, East Hunsbury Primary School, Ecton Brook Primary School, Headlands Primary School, Lings Primary School, Rectory Farm Primary School, Simon De Senlis Primary School, Thorplands Primary School, Upton Meadows Primary School and Weston Favell Primary School.  

Milton Keynes Council : for Langland Community School. 

North Northamptonshire Council : for Park Junior School and Stanton Cross Primary School.

    • Please note: Reception applications should be made to the applicant's home local authority regardless of where the chosen school is situated.

Mid-Year Applications

Schools are unable to offer places direct to parents for their children.  All school places are allocated by the local authorities as shown above.  They also maintain any waiting lists for individual schools.

Following the National Offer Day on 16th April 2025, the deadline for lodging an appeal is no later that 5pm on 20th May 2025
